Tips on how to Reset the Fuel Program on a 1999 Jeep

    1

Park the Jeep on a flat surface and turn off the engine. Turn the ignition so that it clicks after, but will not start the engine. This can be the "run" position and it will illuminate the dashboard.
    2

Locate the vehicle's diagnostic information port underneath the dashboard on the driver's side, above the pedal region. Connect an automotive scan tool to the Jeep's diagnostic data port and turn on the scan tool.
    3

Notice the main menu on the diagnostics car tool. Select the "PCM" option using the arrow keys on the scan tool. Choose "Clear all current and stored DTCs" from the PCM menu. Wait a moment while the scan tool clears the DTCs.

Unplug the scan tool from the vehicle. Start off the engine and check to see if the "Service Vehicle Soon" light is on. If this light is turned off, the fuel system is reset.
